Occupational Dermatitis Claims

Occupational dermatitis is caused by coming into contact with an irritating substance that causes an allergic reaction. If someone suffers from eczema or dermatitis, they can experience severely dry skin that can be itchy, painful and susceptible to skin infections.

There is a range of workers that have a greater risk of developing dermatitis. Employers have a health and safety duty to keep the risk at a minimum. However, if you have suffered occupational dermatitis, you may be eligible to claim compensation.

What can cause occupational dermatitis?

If you’re exposed to oils, petrol, greases and certain chemicals at work, you must be provided with the correct protective equipment to ensure your safety.

Health and safety regulations dictate that your employer must provide the following:

  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Overalls
  • Face masks
